Is the CurrentBody Series 2 LED Mask Worth $470? Real Review

CurrentBody Series 2 is the “max-intensity” LED mask. More LEDs, higher irradiance at-skin, faster results than Omnilux. At $470 it’s the most expensive premium mask in the category. Here’s the real review.

What makes Series 2 different

Specs:

• Wavelengths: 633nm red + 830nm near-infrared
• Session: 10 minutes
• Frequency: 3-5x per week
• Form factor: flexible silicone
• Power: USB-C rechargeable

The key spec: highest-measured irradiance in independent testing. More photons delivered = faster effect.

My 12-week experience

Baseline (age 38, 4 months post-Omnilux Contour use for comparison):

• Fine lines around eyes (softened from prior Omnilux use)
• Some remaining texture issues
• Wanted to test if intensity upgrade produced faster results

Week 2:

• Post-session glow slightly more pronounced than with Omnilux
• Heat on face more noticeable (not uncomfortable, just perceptible)

Week 6:

• Fine line improvement appearing faster than my earlier Omnilux trial
• Texture smoother more quickly
• Skin looks visibly “plumper” by week 6 (took 9 weeks with Omnilux)

Week 12:

• Not dramatically better, just faster to get there

• You’re LED-experienced

Skip if:

• You want FDA clearance (Omnilux has it, CurrentBody doesn’t)
• You have reactive or sensitive skin (Omnilux runs cooler)
• You’re a first-time LED buyer (start with Solawave or Omnilux)
• You want budget LED (Solawave at $299 is smart entry)
